RCJ RECORDS

First and foremost thank you for visiting my landing page.  It really does mean a lot to me as I take on this new venture into the music industry.

 

RCJ Records is run by me, Russ Johnson, with a lot of help and understanding from my wife Clare.  I have recently 'rediscovered' what I didn't realise the first time around when vinyl records were all the rage - and that is that vinyl records are THE best way to listen to music in your own home.  The reason I didn't realise first time around is because I was only a child when my Mum played her records before the CD, then downloads took hold. 

 

Having recently decided to upgrade our own system we opted to buy a record player on top, if for nothing else but to listen to my late Uncle's record collection.  We were immediately taken aback.  The warm, clear crisp sounds were better than anything else we'd heard on CD.  Album's we'd loved since being kids suddenly felt better, warmer and closer than ever before - but because you're reading this, you probably knew that already! 

 

We quickly discovered that getting hold of our favourite artists on vinyl was difficult, especially when the only option sometimes is to pay over the odds on product and postage for imports.  And this is where RCJ Records came from.  We believe that the experience of buying an album or LP should still be with your local record store, smelling the new product as you unwrap it and playing it until it's worn out - immersing yourself in the sound.

 

I'll be buying and selling mod, britpop, indie and indie rock records from various retailers in the Stockport and Manchester areas (UK) - simply because that's where my interest and heart is.  The dream is to have my very own music retail shop - I can dream!
